Katrina Yakovich at Shadowland

Artist Statement for Katrina Yakovich:
I am influenced by my community, life experiences, the city, the region, and the world. (Admittedly, it is a broad spectrum.) Sometimes I have an idea, thought or dream, and paint from that point of view. Other times something from the newspaper catches my eye. I take bad pictures with my cell phone or camera and work out how to make a painting from it. I have no one influence, no singular message, and no obsessive passion except for life.
